"Professional, diligent, and most importantly, loving"

Jeanne and her crew of critter caretakers make leaving my pet behind much easier. They give me peace of mind knowing my furry friend is in good hands with the photos and updates I get during my time away. They are professional, diligent, and most importantly, loving toward my pet as if it was their own. Overall, some of the best pet care I have received.

"Pet Whisperer"

We call Jeanne the “pet whisperer”. I don’t know how she does it (could it be the hot dogs??) but our dogs love her! She truly knows what our dogs are thinking and what they need and they actually listen to her! Jeanne is extremely reliable and trustworthy. I wish she would expand her business to include teenagers. 🙂

Frequently Asked Questions

Interview with Jeanne Crockett, owner of Crockett’s Critter Care

WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND INSTEAD OF OVERNIGHT CARE?

For many pets, extended visits in the evening and morning provide excellent support. Clients have the option to schedule:

  • A two-hour visit in the evening before tuck-in, and
  • A one-hour visit in the morning

This visit structure offers companionship, routine, and attentive care without the disruption of overnight stays. It works especially well for pets who are comfortable sleeping on their own but benefit from meaningful interaction and consistency.

DO YOU OFFER OVERNIGHT PET SITTING?

At this time, we do not. Our services are designed around a team-based care model that allows us to support many pets consistently and reliable throughout the day and evening. Overnight care can significantly limit availabilty for daytime visits, training sessions, and ongoing clients. By focusing on high-quality visits instead, we're able to maintain thoughtful care standars, provide dependable coverage, and support the well-being of both pets and our team.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DOG WALKING VISIT LOOK LIKE?

Dog walking visits take place in your dog’s neighborhood or immediate surroundings. Before leaving the home, we make sure all walking equipment is appropriate for the dog and properly secured. Walks are tailored to the individual dog and focus on providing a safe, enjoyable experience. Time is allowed for exploration and engagement with the environment, supporting both mental and emotional well-being. Our goal is to meet each dog’s needs in a way that feels calm, thoughtful, and positive for both the dog and the walker.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL PET SITTING VISIT LOOK LIKE?

Pet sitting visits focus on your pet's daily care and routine. We follow the instructions you provide in your client portal, including feeding, medications, health needs, and the visit length you requesed. Each visit also includes observation, companionship, and appropriate enrichment or pjlay based on your pet's comfort leverl. Our goal is to maintain consistency and care for your pet as you would at home.

HOW IS REACTIVE DOG TRAINIING DIFFERENT FROM OBEDIENCE TRAINIING?

Reative dog training focuses on a dog's emotional response, not just their outward behavior. Many reactive dogs already know basic cues but struggle when they feel overwhelmeed, stressed, or unsafe. Our approach prioritizes emotional regulation, confidence, and coping skills so dogs can navigate real-world situations more comfortably - rather than simply asking them to behave better.

WHAT IS ACE FREE WORK, AND HOW IS IT USED DURING VISITS?

ACE Free Work is a calm, enrichment-based activity that allows dogs to explore and engage at their own pace. It supports emotional well-being, confidence, and mental enrichment. When appropriate, it may be incorporated into pet sitting, dog walking, or training visits and is always tailored to the individual dog's needs, age, and comfort level.

DO YOU WORK WIHT SHY, FEARFUL, OR REACTIVE DOGS?

Yes, we care foe pets of all temperaments and focus on supporting the overall well-being of every animal in our care. We also have a special interest and extensive experience working with dogs who are shy, fearul, reactive, or easily overwhelmed. These dogs often need a more thoughtful, patient approach - and that understanding carries over into how we care for all pets.

WHAT IS FEAR FREE PET CARE, AND WHY DOES IT MATTER?

Fear Free pet care is about helping pets feel safe, calm, and understood while they're being cared for - especially when their famly isn't home. Many pets experience stress during everyday situations like leash handling, visitors entereing the home, or changes in routine. Fear Free care recognizes those feelings and responds thoughfully, rather than pushing pets to"just get through it."

DO YOU CARE FOR OLDER PETS?

They have a special place in my heart. I have cared for my own pets in their senior years with the ailments that come with age. And I have helped many clients care for their elderly pets. These devoted friends deserve a gentle touch in their later years and my team and I can provide that.

DO YOU OFFER TRAINING?

Yes. In addition to pet sitting and dog walking, we offer dog training with a focus on reactive dogs. Our training is Fear Free and relationship-based. We go beyond covering basic funamenals by focusing on a dog's emotional well being, confidence, and ability to cope with real-world situations.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU VISIT?

Our visits depend on your pet’s needs. Some pets just need a once a day potty break or walk. Other pets require more frequent visits due to their age or health. We will work out a schedule together to determine what is best for you and your pet.

WHO WILL BE CARING FOR MY PET?

You can relax knowing your pet is in caring, capable hands. Every member of our team is trained in Fear Free methods,background-checked, and insured. Jeanne shares her knowledge with her staff and utilizes PETSIT Pro designed by Pet Sitters International.  Our goal is to keep your pet calm, safe, and happy while you’re away.
